This Privacy Notice for DropCal ("we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we might access, collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your personal information when you use our services ("Services"), including when you:
- Visit our website at https://www.usedropcal.com, or any website of ours that links to this Privacy Notice.
- Use DropCal. DropCal turns forwarded content into calendar events. You forward or send emails, photos, screenshots, PDFs, and other documents that contain event details to add@usedropcal.com, and DropCal replies with a standard calendar invite (.ics file) attached. If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, DropCal instead writes events directly to your calendar, and can add recipients you cc on a forwarded email as attendees on those events. The service runs over email — there is no app to install, and no account creation is required beyond sending your first email or connecting a calendar. The service stores user email addresses and processing metadata (such as parse status, timestamps, and event counts) to operate; it does not store the content of your emails or attachments beyond what is needed to generate the calendar event.

1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
Personal information you disclose to us
In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us, and Google account information that you authorize us to access.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you use the Services or contact us. The personal information we collect may include:
- Email addresses — the address you forward content from, and the names and email addresses of any people you cc on a forwarded email (so they can be added as attendees or sent a calendar invite).
- Phone numbers — if you use our SMS/text messaging channel, the mobile number you text from, used to reply to your request. See Section 15.
- Event details — the dates, times, locations, and descriptions contained in the content you forward, used to generate calendar events.
- Usage metadata — parse status, timestamps, and event counts used to operate and maintain the Services.
- Google account and calendar data — if you connect your Google Calendar, the data described in Section 3.
Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive information.
All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.
2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We process your information to provide and operate the Services, communicate with you, maintain security, and comply with law.
We process your personal information for the following reasons:
- To deliver the Services. To read the content you forward, extract event details, and return a calendar invite or write the event directly to your connected calendar.
- To add attendees you designate. To add people you cc on a forwarded email as attendees on the events DropCal creates, or to send them a calendar invite.
- To respond to inquiries and offer support.
- To protect our Services, including fraud monitoring and prevention.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
3. WHAT GOOGLE USER DATA DO WE ACCESS, AND HOW DO WE USE IT?
In Short: If you connect your Google Calendar, DropCal accesses only what it needs to create the events you ask it to create. It does not read your existing calendar events, and it never sells your data or uses it for advertising.
Connecting your Google Calendar is optional. DropCal works without it by replying to your forwarded content with a standard calendar invite (.ics file). If you choose to connect, DropCal can add events directly to your Google Calendar instead.
Permissions we request. When you connect, Google asks you to grant the following:
- See your primary Google Account email address (openid, .../auth/userinfo.email) — to identify your account and associate it with your DropCal connection.
- View and edit events on all your calendars (.../auth/calendar.events) — to create events on your calendar from the content you forward, and to add people you cc on a forwarded email as attendees on those events.
- View your Calendar settings (.../auth/calendar.settings.readonly) — to read your calendar's time zone so events are created at the correct local time.
How we use this access. We use the calendar.events permission solely to create the events you ask DropCal to create by forwarding content, and to add the recipients you cc as attendees on those events. We use the calendar.settings.readonly permission solely to read your calendar's time zone. We do not read, collect, or store the contents of your existing calendar events, and we do not modify or delete events that DropCal did not create.
What we store. To keep your connection working, we store the authorization tokens Google issues to us, the identifier of the calendar you connected, and the connection's status. We do not store the content of your existing calendar.
Revoking access. You can disconnect DropCal at any time from your DropCal account panel, or revoke its access directly from your Google Account at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access stops all future calendar writes; events DropCal has already created remain on your calendar.
Limited Use. DropCal's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In Short: We share information only with the service providers needed to run DropCal, with people you choose to cc, and as required by law.
We may share your personal information in the following situations:
- Service providers. We share information with vendors who help us operate the Services, including our AI provider (Anthropic), our email infrastructure provider, and our hosting and database providers, each under a contract that limits their use of the information.
- People you cc. When you cc someone on a forwarded email, we share the resulting calendar event or invite with that person, at your direction.
- Business transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with a merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition.
- Legal obligations. We may disclose information where required to do so by law.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. Google user data is never used for advertising and is never sold.
5. DO WE OFFER ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-BASED PRODUCTS?
In Short: Yes. We use AI to read your forwarded content and extract event details.
As part of our Services, we offer features powered by artificial intelligence ("AI Products"). We provide these through a third-party AI service provider, Anthropic. When you forward content to DropCal, that content (including text and images) is sent to Anthropic to extract the event details (such as title, date, time, and location) needed to generate your calendar event. Your input is processed for this purpose only and is handled in accordance with this Privacy Notice and our agreement with the provider. You must not use the AI Products in any way that violates the terms or policies of the AI service provider.
6. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We keep your information only as long as necessary to provide the Services, unless a longer period is required by law.
We keep your email address, connection details, and usage metadata for as long as you use the Services. We do not retain the content of your forwarded emails or attachments beyond what is needed to generate the calendar event reply. When we have no ongoing legitimate need to process your personal information, we will delete or anonymize it, or, if that is not possible (for example, because it is stored in backup archives), securely store and isolate it until deletion is possible.
7. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
In Short: We aim to protect your personal information through appropriate organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the personal information we process, including the authorization tokens we store for connected calendars. However, no electronic transmission or storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat our security. You should access the Services within a secure environment.
8. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18, or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to their use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users under 18 has been collected, we will take reasonable measures to promptly delete it. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from children under 18, please contact us at hello@usedropcal.com.
9. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: You may review, change, or delete your information, withdraw consent, and disconnect your Google Calendar at any time.
Withdrawing your consent. If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw it at any time by contacting us using the details in Section 13. You can also disconnect your Google Calendar at any time from your DropCal account panel or from your Google Account permissions. Withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing before its withdrawal.
If you would like to review, change, or delete the information associated with your use of DropCal, or terminate your use entirely, contact us at hello@usedropcal.com. Upon a request to terminate, we will deactivate or delete your information from our active databases, though we may retain some information to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist investigations, enforce our legal terms, and/or comply with applicable legal requirements.
10. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. If a standard is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.
11. DO UNITED STATES RESIDENTS HAVE SPECIFIC PRIVACY RIGHTS?
In Short: If you are a resident of California, Connecticut, or certain other US states, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing.
The only category of personal information we collect is identifiers (such as name, email address, and IP address). We do not collect biometric information, geolocation data, financial information, or the other categories defined under US state privacy laws. We have not sold or shared personal information for targeted advertising in the preceding twelve (12) months, and we will not do so in the future.
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the right to: know whether we are processing your personal data; access, correct, or delete it; obtain a copy of it; and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@usedropcal.com. We will verify your identity before acting on your request. If we decline to act, you may appeal by emailing the same address.
12. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?
In Short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Notice. If we make material changes, we may notify you by prominently posting a notice or by sending you a direct notification. We encourage you to review this Privacy Notice frequently.

14. HOW CAN YOU REVIEW, UPDATE, OR DELETE THE DATA WE COLLECT FROM YOU?
Based on the applicable laws of your country or US state of residence, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we collect from you, details about how we have processed it, correct inaccuracies, or delete your personal information. 15. SMS/TEXT MESSAGING
In Short: If you text DropCal, we use your message solely to create the calendar event you requested and to reply to you. We do not share mobile information with anyone for marketing.
DropCal offers an SMS/MMS text messaging channel. You can text event details, or a photo of a flyer or invitation, to our number, +1 (203) 275-0889, and DropCal replies with a single message containing a link to add the event to your calendar. By initiating a text message to our number, you consent to receive a reply message related to your request. All messages are consumer-initiated; DropCal only sends direct replies to your requests and does not send marketing or recurring messages.
When you use this channel, we process the phone number you text from and the content of your message (including any attached images) solely to create the requested calendar event and to reply to you.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
